Daily Announcements
A group of parents and employees recently completed work on two proposed calendars for 2009-2010. Copies of the two calendars have been sent to all schools and departments and are also available on the district's website, www.richlandone.org. There will be a program on ROTV Channel 12 running over the next two weeks to share highlights of each calendar year. Parents will be contacted using the district's automated telephone system next week giving then information on the calendars. Parents will be told at that time about a second call during the week of March 31st-April 4th. During the second call they will be asked to identify the calendar they prefer. District employees will also be surveyed at to their preference. The plan is to have a calendar approved by the Board of School Commissioners by early May. The calendar that is adopted for 2009-2010 will serve as the model for 2010-2011 as well.

From the Principal
I would like to thank those of you who have welcomed me to the Johnson community. I am excited about the new school year. We have managed a successful beginning, but need your continual support and involvement to achieve our goals. Please insure that your children attend school each day and insist that they share information with you relative to their school work and performance. High school is an exciting time of opportunity and discovery. It is also a time during which many students, especially freshmen, lose their focus. Monitor report cards and echalk, review syllabi or course requirements, conference with teachers when necessary, and participate in parent organizations. The 57-year tradition of excellence at CAJ continues. "Excellence by Design" Kathie Greer
